The East West Rail Community Hub: Overview & FAQs

The Community Hub is a place to share your thoughts with us and learn more about the East West Rail project.

Working together with you is a fundamental part of how we will plan, develop and build connections for communities between Oxford, Bedford and Cambridge.

So, however much time you have to spare, welcome - join the conversation.

Three types of conversations

We will seek to involve the community in three different ways as the East West Rail project progresses.

  • Some of the posts we put on the Community Hub will simply inform you about the work we’re doing and progress we’ve made.

  • Others will be an opportunity to discuss aspects of the project. We’ll be informally seeking your ideas and thoughts on a diverse range of topics, from what makes a great travel experience to how we communicate with you.

  • We will also formally consult you on specific aspects of the project. Consultations are a chance for you to have a formal say on our plans. A report of the feedback we receive during any consultation is published alongside our responses, and your views will help inform what direction the project takes.

Every time you use the Community Hub, we’ll let you know what type of conversation we’re having. This will be shown on the right hand side of each specific page, using the above icons.

Just like on most internet forums or comment pages, any comment you post through the Hub may be available here for other people to read. The exception is during a Consultation, where your responses will be logged and considered by the EWR Co team as part of a formal process, and not published “live” on the website.

If you’d like to communicate with us directly, or would like more information on anything you’ve read here, please get in touch with us at contact@eastwestrail.co.uk
